I think this is one of the main reasons Objectivism resonated with me so much. I had practiced these virtues constantly for many years prior to finding Objectivism. Ayn Rand was the first person who explained to me just what I had been doing, why it was a good thing and why so much of the world was screwed up because they didn't practice these virtues. Again, another wonderful and new perspective for me on all this.
