How about changing to "Constitutional Democracy"? At least that keeps democracy in second place to the protections of the Constitution.

Well, "liberal democracy" is very widely accepted and means what we want, and it has the additional advantage of helping to redefine "liberal," moving away from the weird and inappropriate partisan way we use the word in America. That's what I use when I feel it is necessary to avoid the obvious misinterpretations.

I do not know if "liberal democracy" is widely accepted or not, but I do know combining two words that are not well defined makes the misinterpretation potential four times greater. I prefer to cut the confusion factor.

Thanks for your support of classical liberalism. It has taken a beating from both the right & left. I wish the trendy righties, & the trendy lefties would ,( like matter & anti matter) simply evaporate each other, so the rest of us could have some relief.

Reminds me of what Kissinger said about the Iran-Iraq War: It's a pity they can't both lose. Except he was wrong, they did both lose, and that also applies here.
