Partisanship makes people into idiots. The Brett Kavanaugh media circus is providing us with plenty of examples, and I'll cite just one on each side.
On the left, I give you Hawaii Senator Mazie Hirono, who was asked, "Doesn't Kavanaugh have the same presumption of innocence as anyone else in America?" and replied, "I put his denial in the context of everything that I know about him in terms of how he approaches his cases." That kind of gives the game away doesn't it? She opposes Kavanaugh because she doesn't like how he rules--and that justifies denying him a presumption of innocence on an attempted rape accusation. It's almost like the whole thing was partisan from the beginning.
