Working for a tech company that's involved in the whole AI thing, I've had a front-row seat to the current "show". I can say that I've personally seen glimmers of what's to come with AI in the workplace in the past nine months or so. It has nothing to do with "superintelligence," by the way. However, the thing that nobody seems to mention is that it will require a huge re-tooling of our "human capital" to train people and that will cost a significant amount in both time and money... if it happens at all. There was a technology about a decade ago that promised similar things but then ultimately went nowhere (if you're aware of RPA, then you know what I mean).

In the meantime, I will leave it to you to inform me as to whether we the people are on the verge of societal collapse, or Utopia…but me thinks regression to the mean, whatever that is going to be…don’t ask Elon, he is a fing mad genius who will be found on Epstein Island one of these days…or the Island of Dr Moreau
